Lead Pastor Joshua & Sandra Goetz
Joshua’s Email: joshua@charlielakechurch.com
Joshua, Sandra, and their family arrived at Charlie Lake Community Church in March 2018. Both Joshua and Sandra grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. Joshua and Sandra married in July of 1995, and their family started to grow with the birth of Benjamin in 1999, just a couple of years later Nate was born in 2001, followed by Samuel in the fall of 2003. Not long after that in the summer of 2005, they welcomed their daughter Rebekah.
In 2000, Joshua followed God’s call to ministry, and he accepted a job as a youth worker at First Baptist Church in Ponoka, Alberta. A year and a half later the church extended a call for him to become the full-time Associate Pastor. The family stayed in Ponoka until October of 2006 when they accepted the call for Joshua to become the Senior Pastor at Asquith Baptist Church in Asquith, Saskatchewan. In late 2017 the family received a call for Joshua to become the new Lead Pastor here at Charlie Lake Community Church.
The Goetz family loves to travel, and if there is a baseball stadium nearby you will probably find them there. Our real love though is football, and all three Goetz boys have played High School football in Saskatchewan. Despite all those years in and around the Saskatchewan Roughrider faithful, the whole family is passionate Edmonton Eskimos fans. Rebekah loves to spend time with her friends, babysit, and to play basketball and gymnastics.
Joshua is an avid reader, loves to walk, and spend time with his rapidly growing up family. Sandra is the glue that keeps everything together, and her gift for administration and planning have been instrumental to Joshua in His ministry everywhere they have been.
Their passion in ministry is for God’s people to be drawn together in community. The church is much more than a building that is open one day a week. It is a community of people who go into our community day after day and witnesses for Jesus. Equipping and preparing the church through Scripture and prayer to be lights in this world.
